The Foundations (Guernsey) Law 2012 came into force on 7 January 2013. This new law enables Guernsey to offer an exciting new vehicle to a wide variety of clients, which can be used for private, charitable and corporate uses. Foundations are a good alternative to a trust for clients from a civil law jurisdiction who are less familiar with the use of trusts.
